Guided Botanical Garden Tour & River Adventure with bonus Aqave Spirts Tasting Experience

Meet in the Romantic Zone of Puerto Vallarta at 8:30 am.  We will bus to the Botanical Gardens approximately 45 minutes away.  At the Botanical Gardens we will explore (very easy) up to 2 hours in the upper gardens exploring.  First through the major plantings and different plant houses.  Then we shall walk through some of the more remote jungle trails of the Garden property including the Vanilla plantation.  At about 12 pm we will take a break at the main center of the Botanical Gardens so that one may explore the gift shops and have lunch in their award winning restaurant with fabulous views over the Gardens and canyon.  After lunch we will walk (easy) to the river (15 minutes) and explore some of the river and spend up to 1 hour swimming, resting, and frolicking in the river.   At about 2:30 pm we will return back to the Botanical Gardens center (10 Minutes up stairs) for more shopping, restaurant, restrooms, and last stroll through some planting beds before we catch the bus to return to Puerto Vallarta.  

Back in Vallarta we will walk a few blocks for an introduction to mezcal, tequila, and raicilla.  Our bonus tasting experience will afford us the opportunity to taste not only raicilla, mezcal, but also 4 expressions of tequila: silver, reposado, anejo, and extra anejo.  We will have the opportunity to taste up to 10 different offerings including some flavored dessert tequilas such as coffee, mazapan, and passionfruit.  (must be 18+ in age to taste but welcome to learn)

• Walking Difficulty: Easy to Moderate  (a few hills and dirt gravel paths and stairs) The distance of walking is not long however we do have some stairs to climb back from the river. 

• Meet at 8:30 AM in the heart of the Romantic Zone (exact location and directions will be in your email confirmation after reserving.  ​

• Return approximately 4-5 PM

• Wear comfortable walking shoes, hat, and have water or other hydration. 

• Consider bringing Bug Spray

• Bring a rain umbrella (rainy season June to October) and recommended for hot sunny days for personal shade.  We do not cancel when it rains we celebrate - It is approximately  5 degrees  cooler during a rainstorm.  We may consider a cancellation in the event of a hurricane.  

• In the unlikely event that we only have one participant for a tour we will NOT cancel.  Our guides do not like staying home.  (must be reserved directly through our website)

• Lunch (not included) usually around 12 PM

• Included Gardens admission and lesson on taking public buses in PV - actual bus fare is not included and part of the learning (around 50 pesos each way (3 USD))   All food and beverages not included.  

• Price is $69.50 per person plus VAT with prepaid reservation or $75 payable to the trip leader (if space available at time of departure.) Taxes are not included in price.  Children are until 12 years of age or younger $39.50 USD.  Teens are 13 to 19 years of age $49.50 USD. Children and teens must be accompanied by adults at all times.  Must be 18 to taste the agave spirits.

• We collect a deposit at the time of reservations.  The balance is payable at the beginning of the tour to the guide in cash rounded up to the nearest dollar.  You may pay in exact change in USD or in Pesos at the days exchange rate rounded up to nearest peso as published by Google.

• Price does not include customary tip for the adventure leader.  Mexico culture expects 10-20%
