Pitillal tacos, food stalls, and shopping adventure tour - This is our easiest daytime adventure and is geared for "Seasoned Citizens."

This tour will meet at a major landmark just outside the downtown area of Pitillal - very easily reached by bus, taxi, or uber.  Starting time is 10 am.

Pitillal today is a colonia (neighborhood) of Puerta Vallarta.  It started out over a hundred years ago as a riverside rancho several miles upriver from the Bay.  Over the past several decades Puerto Vallarta engulfed Pitillal however it retains its small-town feel.

The major draw of Pitillal is the commerce and traditional food restaurants and stands all at much lower prices.  It is laid out in a grid pattern.  For a good 7-10 block square, it is made up mostly of traditional family owned shops.  During the tour the leader will set a slow pace as we glance into many different shops as the guide discusses general prices, bargaining strategies, favorites stores.

We will stop into a number of important shops of particular interest to tourists - not selling the typical tourist trinkets but high quality Mexican products such as clay and hand painted dishes, wood tortilla presses, stone molcajetes (grinding mortal,) hand crafted wood toys, etc.

We will also have the opportunity to shop at other stores for daily items such as clothing, shoes, candy, fruits, vegetables - well almost anything is available in Pitillal - and at a much better price then found in the tourist areas of Puerto Vallarta.  Our guide will help ensure you receive the local price - not the tourist price found in Puerto Vallarta.

The guide will also stop at at least 4 of our favorite food vendors where you will get the opportunity to enjoy at least 4 food items (such as birria tacos, volcans etc.) You will learn about the history, culture, and rekevance of these food items.  The guide will provide a lecture on tortillas, tacos, salsas, agua frescas and their importance to Mexican Culture.

Restroom opportunities are endless.  Stores and Tiendas are everywhere.

We will conclude the tour at 1 pm in the center of Pitillal near the bus.  The guide will make sure all know how to get back to their lodging whether they choose a bus or taxi or even to stay longer in Pitillal for more shopping putting into practice the tactics and recommendations that the guide espoused over the course of the tour.
